The old Saab exhaust plumbing and boxes of 1966 Falcon parts in the garage have been joined by what's left of our kitchen ceiling; the rains did a number on our roof. The front yard has been a little too cold, a little too wet, to consider doing much to the old beast. All I can claim for progress is that I've tidied up the parts inventory a little bit and done some cleanup on these pages.
Body shop by mid-February, maybe...still need to decide on one.
Progress is still slow. But little by little, everything done leads to something else - sometimes planned, sometimes not.
I hadn't intended to pull the right front fender but after seeing the loose body filler in the cowl area on the left side, cleaning the whole thing out seemed pretty essential.
And, of course, now that all the nose sheetmetal is off it looks like a really good time to pull the powertrain out to clean up the engine compartment. Doing this, though, means buying or building something reasonably weathertight outdoors to store the thing. Aargh.
The wheel-and-tire situation is resolving itself down to Vintage 45s wearing 255/50ZR-16 stickies. The Vintage 45 has the right offset (at this point nothing else really is), and definitely the right look; I'll live with the price.
